For many of the families of Lutheran Day—“giving up something” is not some Lenten tradition. It is a way
of life. The children are always asked to do without or make do with what
they have. Currently, 75% of the children qualify for free or reduced
cost for the school lunch program, indicating low household income. In
addition, 80% of our families are single female households. Extra
just isn’t in the equation.
To assist these families, Lutheran Day charges
fees on a sliding scale based on household income. As a result, daycare
fees do not cover our expenses. We must provide for these children
through scholarships.
Would you or your church prayerfully consider sponsoring a child at
Lutheran Day? Your gift of $100
will provide a scholarship for one of our children for one week.
If you would like to sponsor a child in any
amount, please contact the center.
