As a non-profit organization serving at-risk children and families, The Lutheran Day depends upon the generous contributions of its partners to fulfill its mission.

Individuals can support the children and families of The Lutheran Day in a variety of ways:

Do your online searches using www.goodsearch.com By naming Lutheran Day as your preferred charity, Goodsearch will donate one penny for every search you perform.  The more times you search, the more Lutheran Day benefits--and it doesn't cost you a cent.  Goodsearch is powered by Yahoo, which ensures good results.

Join the Nursery Association.  As a member of the Association, you have the privilege of voting for the Executive Board Officers and attending the Annual Meeting where decisions about Lutheran Day are made.

Sponsor a child through a Scholarship

Collect Campbell's UPC Codes and Box Tops for Education

Volunteer.  Because we work with children, volunteers must have a background check and meet certain health guidelines.  Contact our Program Director if you would like more information about volunteering at Lutheran Day.  A limited number of High School students may fulfill "Community Service" graduation requirements at the center.

Churches can can also get involved in Lutheran Day.

Form a work team.  A youth group from Memphis, TN, volunteered to do work inside and outside our building, transforming an unused sandbox into a vegetable garden and washing down walls in the entry.

Bring Confirmands to do community service.  A church in Lincolnshire, IL, brings their teen confirmation class to Lutheran Day several times a year to do community service.

Sponsor a child through a Scholarship.

Adopt a classroom and make sure the children have basic supplies.  One church in Elmwood Park, IL, used their Vacation Bible School offerings to purchase crayons and paper for every child.  Contact Lutheran Day for a list of age-appropriate items used in each classroom.
